It’s time to say – “Thank you Mom”

The other day my sister and niece had come to stay over at my place. We were chatting till late night when we started talking of my niece’s plans to get married . My sister asked her daughter that what kind of a groom and family she wanted. Her reply was instant, “Mom, I want a home which allows me to work and pursue my career. I don’t want to be a housewife like you, all my life. My teenage daughter too agreed with my niece’s opinion and asked me, “Mom , what is so great in being a house-wife? Anybody can do that.”

I was almost taken aback to know that in my daughter’s opinion ,what I have been doing all these years was good for nothing. My sister told me , “ Nandini, to some extent it is not their fault. Almost every teen today has the same opinion about house-wives.” I felt a strong urge to tell them that what they thought was so untrue. I could see the last two decades of my life flashing in front of my eyes and how I placed the needs of my family before me, letting my every wish take a back seat.

I asked a question looking at my daughter and niece , “ Tell me when was it the last time you had an holiday ?” My daughter Priyanka replied, “ Mom , I had a holiday just last weekend.” I again asked , “ Now tell me when did your father take a holiday from work?” My sister Rhea interrupted , “Why are you asking such silly questions to the kids. I didn’t pay any attention to her words and asked one more question, “ Will you kids tell me that when was the last time your mom took a holiday?”

There was pin drop silence in our room . Both Priyanka and my niece Shraddha went quiet. This was certainly a question they had never come across before. Both the girls meekly replied , “ Probably never.” I could feel the change in their tone and their facial expressions .

I said further, “ Girls do you know that if there’s one occupation you do for which you don’t even get paid any salary then that’s being a home-maker. Where else in the world will you get such a package which I would like to call as an ‘All in one super luxury package’ . She can do all the work your maid does , listen to all your orders , make a coffee for you at half past midnight, take your tantrums , listen to you patiently ,raising her kids , cater to the needs of every individual in the family . Think of one day when the lady of the house is ill , you can’t get one thing done properly . Indian housewives deserve a grand salute for beautiful juggling the role of a wife, mother , aunty , teacher , care taker , friend all at the same time

It’s time we acknowledge them , respect them and love them not only on Women’s day or Mother’s day but for every single day of our lives and thank God for blessing us with such caring souls who only learnt to give without expecting anything in return.

Stop , think & then Go! -- search for ALIENS

Ever thought of seeing your six duplicates standing in front of you . If talks are to be believed it's said that everyone one of us has seven look alikes existing in this universe.

We all seem to be in a race to find out whether there exists a life in other parts of the universe?

Is there any truth to the existence of parallel earths? But before we plunge into this , shouldn't we take pause and weigh the pros and cons of this activity. What if aliens do exist? What if humans like us exist in some other parts of the universe?

Are we really sure that we are the smartest species of the universe. Isn't it possbile that they can outsmart us. It took India years to get independence. Imagine that we discover life and aliens on another planet and it so happens that they are far more stronger and intelligent than us. If aliens truly exist can't they find us or respond to our signals in some or other way. Let us think this way - we succeed in finding aliens and then we will disturb their lives by exploring about how they live and what all is available in their world . Because we are unstoppable . We want to dig beneath the sea bed and above the sky just checking if there's anytthing more truth still hidden in this universe.

If aliens turn out to be far more advanced and smarter than humans and there's a war between whose going to exist now , are we confident we will win? Or shouldn't I ask. Can we co-exist or we are better off in our own worlds ? Won't it do without finding them. I mean can't it be a possiblilty that in trying to search them we end up hitting our own coffin in the nail.

Whether finding aliens is a good thing or not , only time will tell, but pondering over some questions before embarking on this mission will surely not harm!!

Wat say ???

Phir bhi inka energy meter zara bhi niche na aaye

Sabse aagey rahein

Phir bahane banakar humko manaye

Twelve ko toll kahein inke saathisang

I am sure all khakrites will agree with me on this
Caught in a minute of distress ,if you feel lonely and sad
Speeding his bike he will come to your rescue
To tell you that in your problems , I will always support you

Rish + IT lands him in Tech M
The subject he is best at also start wid a ‘M’
CFA or plain mathematics , he’s a teacher to look for

If you find numbers problematic
Ever-ready to strike a pose for the camera
Being a model can be on his agenda J

The journey from Thakur is memorable to me
Bcoz it was here that all of us became a single “We”
The poem is dedicated to my friend Rishit

Happy Birthday Amee

Dear Amee,

I met her on a Monday
Silent and sweet she appeared on the first day
Teacher called out both our names
The same name was the reason to blame

We thought why not we start the friendship game
We enjoyed the lectures and the testube flames
When we struck a good rapport, only time was to blame

It's six years now that 12th is gone
Sathaye memories are still inborn
Softy at the snowllops and playing at Juhu beach
Those were the best days without any kichkich
For we were never out of each others reach

Busy lives are passing like a rail
When I scan the contact list on my cell
Amee, Payal, Pinal and Akansha's faces
Hit my face like a ringing bell

It's time to cut the cake
And have some fun
For it's 7th day of the 5th month
Shake a leg and make some hay
It's Amee's birthday in the month of May

God bless you with love and affection on this special day.

With love,

Ami

This poem is dedicated to my friend on her birthday Amee whom I met while studying at Sathaye College , VileParle

Thirsty for food

Planning to give your friends, a party at a newly opened hotel joint in your vicinity? Well we need to rethink!! I am sure by now that each one of you would have heard of the rising food prices and the ladies in the house cutting down on making new recipes and the dal fry you had thrice a week is now made only once a week ,all thanks to the prices of dal being sky high. How will the middle class families survive? Forget about the people below the poverty line.
We all have the right to clean and proper food but how can one afford all this at such hiked rates? Just go to a vegetable vendor and the daily necessities in the kitchen like tomatoes, cabbage, green peas, onion, potatoes have become double the prices, the tomatoes which were previously Rs 12 per half a kg is now for Rs.20. The situation is only going from bad to worse. The person who used to have his lunch at hotels now may opt may bring the lunch from home or consume junk food from a roadside vendor as that food is cheaper and fits into the common man’s pocket. The common thali which was Rs.30 per plate now costs Rs.40. The tea, coffee stalls which gave the cutting chai for Rs.4 now charges Rs.7-8 as a result of the rise in sugar prices . Also there’s no option left with the hotels and restaurants as it would be even hard for them to drive their business with the rise in the basic food items and so they will obviously put forward this burden on us ,ultimately it all boils down to the common man suffering .
Food prices are on a exponential rise right since the year 2000 but recently year 2008 has seen a big loop in this whole process. Also the weather being uncertain there are no proper rains posing threat to farmers also encouraging them to ultimately give up their lives and committing suicides. The poor countries in the world will be the most affected as the poor countrymen’s ability to buy food will be undermined. There’s a noticeable rise in the amounts of deaths happening in the country due to starvation. The whole demand and supply curve indicates that there will be no correction in this price hike for at least a decade or more. The countries like India and China whose population is increasing by leaps and bounds every single day, their need for meat and dairy products will rise too. There are several places where farmers neither have access to proper farming facilities, irrigation nor they can feed their own families.
If all this continues, like the food riots breaking out in many parts of the world due to the soaring prices, forget fuel , world food crisis will be the question of worrying for many of us. How can one eradicate this thirst for hunger? World can provide food to all .It just needs a well maintained balance between the food importers and exporters , government providing farmers with necessary knowledge and investing in research to boost the productivity of the crops.
Forget about the recession. There’s more to this. We should pay attention to a man’s basic needs. i.e the roti, kapda and makaan, i.e. food, clothing and shelter.

Let's do our bit to conserve energy

Today when I went for my early morning walk, the climate was cool, indicating the onset of winter but there was one more thing I noticed and that was smoke covering the city skyline. It was smog and not fog. With the Climate summit happening in the Copenhagen and also there’s a batti bandh campaign happening in the city to create awareness among the masses. . It’s time we all do our bit to conserve energy else there will surely be days when we will feel the complete blackout-no electricity-no water –no lpg. It’s time we wake up.
Here are some simple steps we all can practice to do our bit for the world.
1. Turn off lights when leaving your room and check if you don’t leave any lights on while going out on a vacation. Also try and use fluorescent light bulbs if possible.
2. Use air-conditioners only when it’s absolutely necessary. Else keep open the windows of your cars to let the breeze in the evenings .Try to keep your house ventilated.
3. Please check that you don’t leave the water tap open when you are done washing your utensils, using your washing machine, try not to take showers for long hours and waste water unnecessarily.
4. Try to separate the dry and wet wastes and don’t just throw the garbage out of your balcony into your society premises.
5. While cooking try to cover the utensil with a lid while boiling as it will fasten up the process.
6. Use public transport wherever you can or give lift to your friends and neighbors’ if you are going to the same place.
7. Once you are done with charging your mobile phones please take out the adapter and switch off the light.
8. Keep the temperature of your refrigerator to the normal level.
9. When at office , keep your PC on a sleep mode if you are away from your desk for more than 15 minutes.
10. While leaving for home shut your PC as it will save a lot of carbon emissions and also encourage your colleagues to exercise the same.
11. When you watch Television just don’t put it off via remote, get up and switch off the lights .
12. If you use geysers at home try to use it for minimum amount of time as it consumes a lot of electricity.
13. If you happen to hit the gym regularly, please remember to switch off the power supply once you are done cycling and running on the treadmill.
14. When at office, switch off the lights of your washrooms and cubicles when you leave the place.
15. Also try and increase the temperature of the air conditioners at the office if you don’t need much cooling as even rising the temperature saves the electricity
16. While you do all this, please try to pass on this message to as many people you know as Together we can and we will make a difference.

Reflexions

When you start your journey, you have a lots of co-travellers who walk beside you but as the journey is on, one by one you start to realize that not all the souls you started your journey with are present with you now as nothing is eternal and every passing moment signifies change.A change big or small transforming your life every minute.Similarly when you tread along the journey of life, you start walking holding the hands of your parents, then in the course of time you come across many people may be in the disguise of friends, foes, relatives but as the sandclock works, not all the sand remains with you.As days crawl, seasons fly and years swim you start filtering out the unwanted ones and there you stand aloof unaware of the fact that the number of people who actually matter to you in so many years can hardly be counted on your fingertips. If out of these someone's am talking about are really your closed ones you need to realize that these are the ones you can walk upto when in sad or happy times and they are your true reflection ,a mirror that will hide nothing from you and show you nothing but reality...bitter or sweet. And this reflection can only be one ,a person who you may call as your soulmate. So have we identified the mirror in which our feelings reflected and a soul whose heart beats just for you ..Life's beautiful and destiny a cool mystery .In between all this I wish you a very happy jouney

Raaz Peechle Janam Ka -Review

Raaz Peechle Janam Ka –Review

Ever believed in re-incarnation? No matter what caste, creed and religion we belong to we all have heard and talked something about these from our grandparents, ,friends etc. This has always been a intriguing question for decades. It’s like if we believe in God then we can believe in our previous births too.
Ever since I saw this ad about a reality show starting on this topic of re-incarnation I could not help but wait eagerly for their first show to air on 7th December ,2009 at 9.30 pm on NDTV imagine. Ravikishen did a fabulous job as an anchor for the show. Looks like he has improved manifold and looks great and radiant on the stage. The sets are painted in dark blue shades, creating the environment for getting in
touch with your inner soul. The show is an attempt to find answers to the problems people face like having phobias or they see same images again and again or some recurrent situations happening with them. It’s about finding the main root cause of a series of events happening in a person’s life.
The first contestant Swati , who stayed in Bhopal who herself didn’t believe much in this re-incarnation had come to the show, expecting even she may find some answer to her phobia from heights. She dreaded sitting in the plane, especially when the flights take off and landed. She had come there along with her husband and a relative to witness what all she will say when in a state of deep sleep.

Ravikishen asked her whether she was ready to take this test and she said a yes. She was made to lie down on the bed and asked several questions which revealed the ultimate truth that she was a sailor in her last birth and had died in the plane crash. She said everything right from her name, to seat number, to flight number and also the co-passenger , Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha, India’s famous scientist.
I was spell-bound. I just could not believe my eyes. Also the contestant Swati herself was speechless. The concept of the show is quite unique and will surely attract a large pool of audiences.

Communication is the key

We had a reading hour in school wherein all the students were expected to read stories form the novels available in the school library. I was in 8th grade then. As the reading hour was about to get over our professor asked all of us that who all read times of India newspaper.
I could not raise my hand unlike the other students as only a gujarati newspaper was read at my house. Almost all my friends had their hands up and so my sir started discussing in detail the sports section and the headlines etc. I was patiently hearing everything and the conversation between my friends and my sir. Then the sir asked all of them to tell their favorite section and my class sounded like a zoo where monkeys were screaming and yelling and jumping from here and there. Sir said in a loud voice-pin drop silence kids...and it was finger on your lips for all of us . Then a girl told sir that her favorite section was the Speaking tree column which was accompanied by the sacred space. Sir was too impressed and said that it was indeed a good piece of writng and all of us should read it. I thought that there was some tree which could actually speak and there's some news about it. As the bell rang, reading hour was over and I just forgot about the whole thing.

Next day I was sick and was on a leave. When I went to school the other day I went to my class teacher and showed her the leave note in my calendar signed by my father, she asked as to what went wrong and was I feeling well now. It was such a simple question but somehow I struggled for words and didn't reply anything. The teacher didn't say anything to me . Probably she felt I was still feeling sick.

But my problem was completely different . I knew what I wanted to say but I could not say that in English. I started fumbling and somehow felt blank. It was an big eye opener for me . The whole day I was upset. I thought to myself that being a girl who is studying in an English medium school and already in Secondary section can't speak english. What a shame!I just made up my mind that I will make my command over the english language nad even my mother tongue so strong that never ever in my life I should fumble or struggle for words.

I told my mom to start taking the Times of India(TOI) newspaper. When I read the TOI for the first time I came across this section called the speaking tree which had lovely stories about life, humanity, emotions, and a sacred space which had spiritual quotes. I realized that what happened back in school was that everybody in the class was discussing about this column which I thought of as an actual tree which could really speak. How foolish was I!

I started reading newspaper everyday, reading the wren and martin grammar books, solving exercises, I just spoke in English all day, there were times I was teased by my friends that I am trying to show off and be different than others but it all fell on my deaf ears. I was determined enough to learn and also let others learn. But my friends didn't understand my motive. I read essays ,novels and even bought an english dictionary. Whenever I came across a new word I used to note it down and then look back to refer in the dictionary. I didn't know when I fell into the habit of reading the dictionary itself. A year passed by and then I decided to participate in an english essay writng competition. I still remeber the topic given to us was "Importance of Value Education". I just wrote it and was very satisfied with the way I had written. When the result was announced on the mike by my principal and we had speakers in every classroom in the school. It was the last lecture and the bell rang and so there was a lot of noise and I could not hear that who won the prize. I was not even expecting my name as there were more scholars in the class. But when I went out of the school all my friends congratulated me and then I realized that it was me. I was so happy. It meantt hat whatever hardwork I was putting in was showing results. By the time I stepped in tenth grade my teacher asked me to write essays and make grammar asignments which she then gave to the whole class. I was now spreading the knowledge gained.

My clasmates who teased me for always speaking in english now came and asked me for advice. The situation had turned around. When I entered college I continued to get awards for writing essays and there were compliments written on my answer papers that " I wanted to give you a 11 on 10 " , "you write very well" and the " keep it up" notes. I almost started taking tutions for my cousins and kids in my neighborhood. When I entered into engineering , we had a subject called presentation and communication skills which we called as PCT and I was asked to give an impromptu speech and I chose to talk on smoking. The audiences loved it and my professor was happy too. Since that day my professor always read my case studies and took interst in my group discussions and then I went on to conduct a presentation called Fashionista which we as a team of 10 people performed very well and audiences were all praises.

I never stopped learning. I then started reading the GRE word list and the barron's and books like "Word power made easy" and what all people do to prepare for a toefel exam and then I appeared for the CAT MBA examination where the verbal ability, reasoning and the rc's i.e the reading comprehensions have a lot of weightage. Not only I concentrated on enhancing my vocabulary and the way I speak but also increased my reading speed to almost 1000 words a minute.

Even today I am learning and finding out ways to put my skills to test everytime because communication is really important in every walk of life , be it making friends, in the professional life, to be able to talk to the world in face and feeling confident.

I wrote this article in an effort to share that it's only we who can make a difference in our lives. If we think we can , we will !

else as the saying goes " Either you make the choice or the choice will make you "

Love Marriage Vs Arrange Marriage

Hi, this has been a question of debate for ages now and one can talk on this for years to come .

I personally believe that arrange maariage is a simple plain vanilla "Lucky draw".
Thinking why do I say so? That's because you don't know the guy whom you gonna marry much instead his family , it's like you got to trust on what people say and you can know the utlimate truth only once you are married to that guy/girl. So if you are lucky you may get a very nice life partner and if not then you may end up spending the rest of life like a compromise.

Talking of love marriage, in most cases you know the person whom you are marrying and many more things about him.You consciously at your will take a decision to spend your life with him/her . Therer are situations where even love marriages don't work but that's a completely different ball game. After all there are exceptions everywhere. It's atleaast a fair game and not a blind man's bluff .

Marriages are a ride of events which somebody organises, and someones acting and audiences i.e our guests are the ones really enjoying. Loading the stomach with mithais and so many cusiines and cocktails, almost a week long celebrations , family memebers taking up every responsibilty taking the avatar of event managers

Everybody trying to look picture perfect and greeting everyone with a smile .
A series which starts almost one year almost in advance by the bride/groom hunting in case of arrrange marriage or in case of love marriage couples are busy dating and getting to know each other more and more , trying to impresss each other's families and once both the parties family gives a thumbs up then starts the round of exchanging horoscopes, calling a pundit ,fixing a date for engagement and then the part girls love and guys do love it this time...that's shopping.... and here starts the countdown for the D-day.

Just one look at the would be brides and the grooms face and you can see their cheeks glowing ,eyes have a rather unusual sparkle , even the most shy and reserved person on earth now has a reason to talk, smile and mingle. It's the best phase in every individuals life.

The speed with which the gold prices are rising am wondering that how does one manage the jewellery shopping.Everything is so costly, getting the invitation cards ready, finding the right venue, appointing the right caterers and selecting a prpoer menu, fixing an appointment for facial and make up, contacting the right dress desiger. After all , it is the most important day of your life and you can take no chances!!! Oh god!!! there's so much. All friends and relatives from every corner of the world are send invites, emails, couriers and then you got a beeline in your house almost a week prior to the marriage.

Whether it's a match made in heaven or on earth, you most importantly find your better half, a partner for life who will share your sorrows and double your joys. You will start to have a family and your soulmate!!!!

To all the married guys and gals ...I wish you all a happy married life

and to all the bachelors I gotta a question..love or arrange...????

Till then keep smiling...you never know whose falling in love with it !

I am awaiting your comments on this article....

Co-incidence

Never believed in co-incidence
And I still don’t
I believe things are destined
That draws you close

Funny but true
Are friendships made in heaven too????
Its still appears strange to me
What changed we strangers into close friends

When a relationship grows
Every flower looks like rose
Some talks for a little while
And I have friend for a life-time

He was quick to decide
That he wanted to make me his best friend
I am happy to meet him
At the first sight talking to him was also rare

He’s now a true friend
Who understands me well
Always true on my expectations
He’s gem of a friend

You are dear to me
And believe me when I say this
You are my support when I am low
I am proud to be your friend for sure.

Hey you are lucky you are in my friendship store.--------------AMI

Teenage_friends_and all in between

When a female knows that she's going to deliver a child and become a mom, her joy knows no boundaries. Months pass and the child finally arrives in this beautiful world .The whole family is so excited about the entry of a new guest in the family.Child grows, parents take care of them at every step of their life. A child's life is divided into so many phases. As a younster, his world revolves around his parents & family members. Day by day he grows finally shaping into a cool teenager-the most wonderful years of his life.Teenage -a phase in which you lay the foundation of your future, your career. A make or break situation. A time when your friend's are the most dearest things to you and know probably everything happening with you. Your friend now becoming yuor best companion, philosopher and a guide and almost can be called your secret diary.Parents now being vigilant enough and putting every footstep of your under a microscope for they are worried thinking that what company my son/daughter is in?Is he really attending the lectures in the college or bunking? Whom is he hanging around with, is he falling prey to any bad habits and the list is endless...Here comes your friend like a hero and your saviour who helps you ,understands you, handles your situations, gives a ear to you, consoles you when your sad, cheers you up, scold you when you need one, encourages you when you are depreesed, tells you your weak and strong points, where you lack and how you can improve. So friends are the characters who play a very important role in the drama of your life at this stage.Taste of failure and success starts.Sometimes you fare well and at times you fail badly, may be in case of studies, relationships etc.You gain, you lose , you live life struggling with the ship of life trying to sail it in the right direction. Some days are as such that you feel that time should come to a standstill and life should always be so much fun, frolic, happiness ,cool friends and a supportive family and you don't need anything else. And then there are days when you feel you are worthless and just good for nothing .Everythign seems to go wrong, misunderstandings, fights, studies etc.But we as human beings cannot avoid this and get up every morning thinking about the new sunrise bringing light into our lives and the candle called hope burns endlessly.Sometimes I ponder over thoughts like ..Who am I ?What am I doing here? What is the objective with which I am sent into this world?Does God exist ?If yes, Should I believe in him? and the set of questions go on. Oh my! I think too much. But I surely know one thing at the end of the day that now when I am here I can surely avoid adding to the world's miseries,if I can't add to the happiness. And make atleast one person smile a day who in turn passes the chain and make my world a better place to live in.So Keep smiling...

Am Confused???

Ask me the synonyms for fun and I would immediately tell you my childhood days, games, cartoons etc. Those days were undisputedly the best days and I hope we all will agree to this.Everything seems so picture perfect but as human nature is, when we are young we wait to grow elder and viceversa..Right??..
Let me tell aboutthis young lad, my cousin Aareyan who is 5 yrs old now and just observing him is the biggest entertainment than watching any TV show. He woke u early this morning and just took off the crayons and colored the whole butterfly's picture in his drawing book with rainbow colors and woke me up asking me that hows it.It was 8 a.m then, and I told him the drawing was great and then showed me all his books hs books, his toys, and then switched on the radio.I just started wandering what hyperactivity this little chap has.I went on with my daily routine of running to the office but I still remember Aareyan and how restless he is.But his energy is really really unmatchable.
But the case is 360 degrees opposite with his elder brother Vatsal. He is in grade six and hates studies like almost every guy his age does and he's got spectacles thanks to watching tv or the idiot box as I put it for endless hours. Every time I visit his home Vatsal having a nice built and a lawn tennis bat hanging at his back always asks me the same question,"when will I grow up and finish my school and still how many more years I need to cling to my books.?and I just can't help but laugh out loudly and I tease him telling that he needs to study for 20 more years.
An the expression on his face is just worth watching.
Everybody is somehow yearning to grow older, there's this friend of mine, a young boy in his early teens who loves football and his playground. He's just finished school and it's his first year of college. But he hardly attends any lectures in his college. However hard I try but I cant control myself from making him understand that he better attend his classes in college and he's quick to reply,"Ten years from now on you will find me as a young successful enterprenuer".Of course I love his confidence but the point which I am trying to make here is everyone of us are busy building up dreams for our future.
The story is a little different here.I happened to meet these gang of girls a month back.We all were excited as we all girlies were gonna meet each other almost after 3-4 years. It was kinda school reunion. All of us were now in diffrent professions and had nothing in common in terms of our careers.I reached the mall at 6 pm sharp and almost all of us were in time.Exchanging compliments as some of my friends had changed so much and looked really pretty. We grabbed a table in one corner and ordered pizzas and started chatting. All of us agreed t one point that things changed so much since school as we knew each other and our funny habits then. All of them now had many friends in their college and workplace. But then, Gayatri said one thing that don't you guys think that all of us were really happy back in school and she wished that those days were back again.Ya,I too wish the same, replied Seema and all of us again started remebering all the funny instances from our schooltime. Here, my friends eventhough having a nice present and everyone settled in their lives, had an opinion that the past was so good, no tensions ,no responsibilities.etc.
Every age has it's own charm. As years pass so many feelings, emotions creep into us day in and day out-love,hatred,compassion,jealousy,selfishness,kindness.Not to forget we master the art of lying by now.Small lies like if you don't want to hang out with your friends you may tell them that I am really busy in the office when actually you were absolutely free and we just don't even realize that we lied. You may love someone more than yourself and hate someone to the extent that just can't even bear that person's sight. You start privatising and priortising, building up notions and categorize that these are my buddies ,those guys are not my type ,that girl is really rude and I dont want to talk to him and on the other side of the coin you may help somebody going out of your way or become so selfish that you indulge into cheap gossips, only think of your profits and start talking around one's back.Different people, different reactions.
So I feel all of us have two faces. One which is like a mask which we pretend to be as a public figure, taking into account what will he\she think of me, being in the society an image which everyone has of you, and the other face is one hidden behind the mask which only
you know and the Supreme almighty.Pretty wierd naaaa!!!!! But that's the way it is.So keep enjoying your present and be ready to face this badbad world with your supermasks.!!!!!

I am lost!!!!!!!!!!

Everbody is engrossed in work
I am lost in my own world

I got up from my chair
Saw all my colleagues doing work of their share

Some were busy chatting on cell
Oh God !!!Am I part of an air-conditioned hell?

Guys & gals passing by my desk
Running to meetings and
Winding up things as the time is less

I too got up and wore my shoe
But only to go to the loo

Tired was I , sitting quiet all day
Gone were days when I played with mud & clay

So many long hours and nothing to do
Only cafetarias and cubicles we go to.

I wish I could run from here
But the picture of paycheque holds me here

People say you are on bench
But I argue that right since school I had this bench
The only difference now is in the chair
There's no more wood and fun n fair

A mail just dropped in my inbox
The subject line indicates that I got work
Am back to racking my brains
The software codes making rounds in my head

Got bugged so wrote this down
Thankyou for sparing time and
reading it out!!!!!!!

Someone sits by my side

Someone sits by my side
She’s none but the cubicle mate of mine
Imagine the free time I have
While I am writing this poem
She’s busy taking client calls

So many meetings and deadlines to meet
She’s left with no time to breathe
That’s too much too handle
What keeps her going is all I think?

Suggestions, ideas or advice
You will hear it all from her
Instant solutions and dynamic approach
That too in one go
A perfect role model to me for sure

Lovely smile she always carries
No less than a beautiful fairy
Simple, serene and calm she appears
Very serious when @work

Full of bubbling energy
Handling all tasks diligently

I have learnt a lot sitting here
No wonder if you call me a spectator now on.

Wonderful mommy and a true friend
Cool manager and a lovely lady
Haven’t she got all the ingredients all ready
Nice human-being is the name of this recipe

Tik-tik-tik the clock goes
Always keeping her on the toes
Her eyes glued to the outlook screen
Sun has set moon risen
Am almost tired doing nothing
She’s still occupied winding up things

I thought for many days
That what can I gift you
As a token of admiration and best wishes too
I zeroed on writing this poem just 4 u.

This poem is about a lady whose my manager and also my cubicle mate and I admire her for her work and have learnt a lot sitting beside her.

Love Birds

Bustling with energy and full of life...
she's none but the bubbly bhabi of mine.

Its true we stay far..
but yet the warmth and love is just a phone call far

We meet once in a while
Her memories remain always fresh in my mind.

A thorough chatter-box..fun to be with anytime
The life of our family get-together all the time

Beautiful member of our family
No wonder y ppl call her honey.

Time flies away in her company
After all she's my Vaibhaiv bhai's pretty lady

A lovely couple who fell in love
We call them Hiral and Vaibhav

Seeing them together,
Makes me feel just made 4 each other

Now thats all I can say abt this friend of mine
I dedicate this poem to Hiral bhabi of mine

Jab We Met

Jab we met in the train
All fun and no rain
Month of December
Winter on its way

I never thought will meet you one day
The city we stay is common yet we met in the native place

Not a single word from this reserved guy
Made me wonder what’s on his mind

Hardly smiled...conveying everything with his eye
Ohhh I tried my best cud not understand this guy

We danced and sang all the way
All my efforts to call this fellow were in vain

Silently observing the world around him
I never thought we can be friends anytime

The trip of four days came to an end
My interface with the sturdy built fellow had come to an end

But here I am writing this poem just for him
He’s now a cool buddy and a lovely friend of mine

Things are now different than what I thought
A interesting personality to know so far

We now chat over the phone
Getting to know each other more and more

I just want to say this
You are a dear friend
Promise me, wont break this friendship in your lifetime.

Watch this!!!

Everyday when I leave home heading for office, there’s one person I probably pass by even without much of a notice. It’s been 20 years & more now that this man serves as an watchman in the society where I live.
I just can’t help but admire and learn how this tall, dark man spends his whole day sitting on the chair, taking care of tress-passers ,opening and closing the bldg gate for the vehicles coming in and leaving. I have grown over the years from a youngster to a teen watching him do the same chore everyday and that too with a smile on his face.
His day starts at 6.00 am morning as he has the task of cleaning and washing up cars of residents in our locality. I am just moved by his commitment and dedication to work. Whatever the season may be..summer, winter, rains. Come what may, but nothing stops him from doing his daily duty. By the way I know this as I go for a mrng walk every morning and have been an eyewitness to all his work. There may be days when I can be lazy to get up for my mrng stride but not even the heavy rains or a cold winter mrng stops this man from performing his duty.
Today he must be years older to me but the energy and freshness he has makes me admit that I am more older than him.
Always vigilant as his job demands he even takes care of small things like when there are water-cuts during summers he personally goes to each and every house-hold to inform so that we can store water well in advance. He knows which servant works in which household and the ladies in the society always ask him if they are in a need of a plumber/electrician or a maid and he lets them know whom they can contact instantly.
I being a restless person and almost wide awake as an owl at night spending
my time reading my books if I happen to stand in my gallery for a moment at that time too..i find this man ..in his night shift fully aware and awake safeguarding the whole society while all eyes are fast asleep.
So we all have a lot to learn and “watch” from this “man” and praise the qualities and values he possesses like loyalty to the profession, commitment, dedication and consistent performance everyday.
One lesson which I learnt today is that it all depends on the individual that how can he/she give his best in everything what life offers and no job is small or big ..it’s just depends on how you choose to look at it.
So be happy, keep smiling and feel good in all what God has bestowed on us because such is life’s dearies!!!!!

Give Me a Breakkkkkkkkkkk

I am sure all of us have this once upon a time luxury item we call it as the idiot box at our homes in all shapes and sizes 16 inches...to 32 inches...and the plasma one as good as a mini-theatre..and tune into it everyday…..Also we have our share of favourites...comic series to epic sagas to adventure sports …..star to sony to zee to mtv ….. doordarshan…channels of all types…....going down the memory lane am reminded of serials like Hum Paanch..Dekh Bhai..Dekh..Shrimaan Shrimati..Dennis the menace……to the Sunday mrngs…Mowgli ..and the epic like Ramyana…Chandrakaanta…the list is endlesss….those were the lovely days of my life.....coming form school..throwing the bag...and watching boogie woogie...returnig from my flashback ….
today we still watch the …evergreen Tom & Jerry on the cartoon n/w…and every kids fav Shinchan…to Roadies on Mtv ...or the stocks on cnbc... the most entertaining news channel
Aaaaj tak and indiaaaaa tv……n how can I forget our famous and hilarious soaps like Tarak Mehta ka ooltah chasmah and the colors top-rated Balika vadhu…and league after league ..season after season……may be football or cricket..
My only problem in this whole scenario is the big long and repetitive breaks…..
At times it just puts someone’s patience to test..
…………….Sometimes I am fortunate enough to rush to my remote control and press the “mute” button on time..
Ads like that of Vodafone zoo-zoos are always fun to watch but the decade old ads are so much in-grilled in us that we almost remember every line ..and almost byheart…....................
I wonder at times what the whole advertisement had to do with the product endorsed..absolutely no connection…but such is the ad-world…..very innovative and absolutely creative…..and so now breaks are a part and parcel of my life tooo..whether or not I want one..I need to have that break after every five minutes if I want to watch the whole serial or movie for this is a whole package cum offer……with ur fav serials ur bombarded with ads which come just free free free…
So guys….……whether u have a kit-kat or not but do have a break(hehe)….….lols

RUN-RUN-RUN

Confusion-Competition-Concentration & it’s a long list of C’s haunting me since years….
Right since childhood days, first the fear of excelling in the academics and all the extra-curricular activities..get the first prize in the inter-school competion to winning gold medals on the annual sport’s day…the final year in the school SSC arrives and every eye in the house is on u…infact every aunty in your neighbourhood and the whole locality knows which coaching classes you go to...after a year long hardwork …you now find yourself standing in the never ending queues for the admission in the junior college you dreamt to be in just to realize that this year the college cut-offs are really really high drivng you crazy …finally this yr we have online admissions in Mumbai for SSc for the very first time....….alll set to enjoy the newly found freedom and enjoing the college festivals and ur again welcomed by the board examz fever !!!!!….u finally even make it to your desired stream and slog thru ur teens to complete your bachelor’s degree course………
And someone tells you that the rat race has just begun and you still need to run with your resume and cv’s …we step out of the house filled with a mix of emotions and trying to think of all the questions the interviewer can ask us ..alll dressed in formals and eyes filled with hope …we finally get a good job….and now the task is to retain and secure your job and constantly deliver on your senior’s expectations……………
Moral of the story is…Keep running on this treadmill called Life…..

RUN BEHIND UR FEARS TILL THEY RUN AWAY FROM YOU.

World's going mad with "TANS"
Wondering what am I talking about?
Lemme give you a hint.....Every second day when I read the newspaper with
a cuppa of tea in my hand and once I am done scanning the headlines
........and flip I turn to the most awaited section..all the hot news of the tinsel town in the ...
HTCAFE/ BOMBAY TIMES
The next thought that enters my head is that is there a spelling mistake.????...either there's an extra A added to Akshay or an S to tushar.
Oh yes its "TANS" playing a role.
Stilll din't get what I wanna say.....
wELLL wELLLL it's "TAROT/NUMEROLOGY/ASTROLOGY/SIGNATURE ANALYSIS aka TANS"
Talking of Astro...
I read my horoscope everyday and if it says the days gonna be gr8 ...my face lights up with a smile and if it says a bad day on the cards....I just move forward to the next page.
Coming to Numero....
I now think whether should I spell my name as AMI....AMEE...AMY....AMISHAA...AMIEEE.

All of us at some point of time in our lives surely fall prey to this "TANS"

And what sign should I have to avoid all the negativities...???/and the dots at the end of the signature should be avoided and the signature should be inclined upward.

Neverthless, Life's fun is hidden in it's surprises and the whole essence of it lies in what the future(??@@#*) has to unfold!!!!!!!Right folks.....

Till then Live life Kingsize and longlive "TANS"..hehe...//////
